The one thing that all of the hundreds of people I’ve helped to quit smoking will all agree on is this, smoking purely and simply is a bad habit. Interestingly enough, so will almost everyone you meet who still smokes. Besides being an invitation to dire health problems down the road, it’s unattractive and expensive. Over the years, cigarette companies have done their best to encourage their product’s sales and keeping people in this nasty habit, despite being barred from advertising on television and in magazines.
Obviously the most important question above is the last one. You can read all the inspirational sayings and valentines day quotes in the world, but if you don’t do anything with them they don’t mean a thing.
Facebook – Facebook has an estimated 850 million users! This is the most popular social site and my favorite as well. Facebook is very versatile in what you can do with your page. Be sure to open a business account and also read the rules for businesses. Fill out your profile completely. Add images and videos to your page to make it more interesting and interactive. Visit your page every day and post helpful information, links and resources. Answer all comments promptly.
You will want a customized background so when people go to your page to check you out it makes a good impression on them. You can do this yourself or outsource it. Just do a google search for “how to customize a twitter background”, or something like that.
Then bench mark all the success stories. Those people who worked out and now have amazing bodies like models, actors, body builders etc. Read their stories that how would they use to look and how they look now. There are so many stories you would find to bench mark. They are people who become something out of nothing. And after benchmarking have the determination to go through that path which they have covered.
LinkedIn – LinkedIn now has over 150 million estimated users. The thing I like about LinkedIn is how you can participate in groups that interest you or will benefit your business. Join groups and be sure to participate in the discussions by offering real and helpful information and advice. Follow their guidelines on how to completely and effectively fill out your profile.
These are lessons from great people that can have a profoundly positive impact on your life if you actually act upon it. One of my favorite quotes is about habits by Aristotle. “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.” This is the premise that I base most of my work on. The whole point in motivating yourself isn’t just to do something once. As you may know, motivation doesn’t last very long. This is the main reason why people will start a goal and quit within a few weeks or so. Once the motivation dies down, their actions will stop. Once they stop taking action, they won’t get the results they were looking for.
